The Young Clerk's Assistant (BRW020)  -  George Bickham was one of the most highly-regarded calligraphers of his day. He wrote two works on penmanship. One was called The Universal Penman, which contained examples of business forms of the day. The other was this booklet, which was a practical guide to writing with a quill. Directions for Preserving... Directions for Preserving the Health of Soldiers,1778, Dr. Benjamin Rush. (BRW008) This small pamphlet was published in 1778 and written by Dr. Benjamin Rush for the Board of War. It contains information about dress, diet, cleanliness, encampments, and exercise. 8 pages, stitched binding $3.00.
   
Every Man His Own Doctor Every Man His Own Doctor or The Poor Planter's Physician (BRW001)  - Containing remedies for everything from Film on the Eyes to Cancer. The Second edition was printed by Benjamin Franklin. You may see them elsewhere, but they are manufactured here. Stitched binding, $10.00.
   
Wolfe's Instructions Wolfe's Instructions for Young Officers (BRW009) - Written in 1757 by the conqueror of Quebec, this volume contains much information on day-to-day running of a camp or an army. Recommended reading by many senior members of the American and British army, it can be found in numerous inventories of officer's personal goods from the Revolution.106 pages, stitched, paper bound, $15.00.
   
Highland Discipline 1757 Highland Military Discipline (BRW010)  - A description of this variation of the regular British drill. This book contains six pages of plates, and is one of the few contemporary sources of bayonet drill. We always read of how good British troops were with the bayonet but we are seldom told where the instructions for its use are written down. 1797 Light Infantry Exercise Light Infantry Exercise, 1797 (BRW011)  - The first British light infantry tactics set down in a book. Many other light infantry manuals were copied from this one or based on it. Bouquet's Expedition (BRW012)  - A great book written about the experiences of Henry Bouquet, an English officer in the Seven Year's War. A Compleat System of Fencing, or The Art of Defense, 1734. (BRW013)  - This manual of fencing instruction first appeared in 1734. It is written in a dialog, question and answer style. 91 pages, stitched binding $10.00.

A Form of Prayer London, 1776 (Abridged) (BRW014)  - An English Book of prayer printed in London, 1776 - This abridged book contains several prayers including one for defeating the unjust attempts of their rebellious fellow-subjects. Stitched, paper bound, $3.00.
   
Of the Effects of Coffee, Tea, and Drams (BRW015)  - This humorous book discusses the effects of these items on the digestive system. It is a short discourse on wind in the bowels, which is as delicately as we can put it. 8 pages, stitched, paper bound. $3.00.
   
Common Sense, Thomas Paine (BRW016)  - This book by Thomas Paine was one of the most popular books in the Colonies in 1776. Now you can have a copy. Stitched, paper bound, $10.00. (But don't tell anyone you had to purchase common sense! )
   
Gamester's Companion Gamester's Companion (BRW107)  - A new set which contains 18th century two wooden dice of the correct size (small!) and a booklet containing understandable rules for Whist, All Fours, Loo, and Hazzard (two card games and two dice games). $5.00 for the set.

Adventures of a Cork Screw (BRW018)  - Our first republication of an 18th century novel. This book is the first of what we hope will be a series of 18th century novels, published and bound as the originals for appropriate reading in camp. Shamela (BRW019)  - A novel written in "response" to the famous 18th century novel "Pamela". The story purports to be letters of response and outrage written by the characters that appeared in Pamela, in regard to their actions that occurred in that book. $15.00
