Tip - Many customers have asked us if we sell seals for our sealing wax. We always answer no, because we can’t carry the variety that our customers would want.. But it’s easy to make your own seal. Go to any fabric store and pick out a button that has a pattern on it that you like. Fasten the button to a piece of wooden dowel and you have a very inexpensive seal.
   
Union and Confederate Stationery on CD (CD0304) - All the stationery you will ever need on one CD. This CD includes 67 patriotic envelope styles (with over 50 styles we've never offered before). Also includes 11 different and updated writing paper formats, stamps for both Union and Confederate mail, and an envelope template. All items are in easily reproducible PDF document format, so you can start right away. An instruction booklet with information in it is also included. All this for $45.00.

Union Patriotic Stationery (CWS101) - We have always been a little disappointed with the envelope sizes available commercially, so, we started making our own. The kit now contains four exact size reproductions of original envelopes from our collection of almost 100 original styles of patriotic envelopes, five sheets of correct note paper (now with properly printed lines), and 4 gently cancelled reproduction stamps. $10.00

United States Postage Stamps (CWS110)  - These Facsimile stamps are pre-cancelled (so we don't get in trouble with the Postal Service) with a line through the denomination. These stamps can be moistened and affixed to letters, but don't try to use them for postage! If you don't need the envelopes, you may still need the stamps. A half-sheet of these is included in our Union stationery set, but if you need more, a block of 8 stamps is just 50 cents.
   
Confederate Patriotic Stationery (CWS201) - Just like our Union kit, this new Confederate contains four exact size reproductions of original envelopes (from almost 30 original styles on file), five sheets of correct note paper now with properly printed lines, and stamps. There is one sheet of note paper to match each envelope design, and one sheet of blank lined paper. $10.00
   
Confederate Postage Stamps (CWS210) - Facsimile reprint of the 5 cent stamps first issued in 1861. First class postage in the Confederacy was five cents in 1861, and 10 cents after that. A sheet of these is included in our Confederate stationery set, but if you need more, a sheet of 8 stamps is just 50 cents.
   
   
19th Century Writing Set (SWK002) -  The Regulations call for Officers to receive each quarter: Writing paper, Foolscap paper, Envelope paper (or envelopes), quill pens (or steel pens), sealing wax, wafers, and tape. Our kit contains all of these items except the wafers and the wax. $10.00, includes:
  • 10 sheets of 19th Century style writing paper
  • 10 sheets of foolscap paper
  • 4 envelopes
  • 1 steel nib pen

Blank Books

We manufacture our own blank books. All soft bound books are hand folded and hand stitched. You can tear out pages and not harm the book. These books are the note pads of their time. We can also custom make a book for you. Please call for prices. Our standard sized books are:

   
Small Blank Book. (BBK001) (5 x 3, 20 pages) $4.00 - It was recommended as far back as the Revolution that all private soldiers be issued a blank book in order to record their personal pay and debts. No soldier should be without one of these.
   
Medium Blank Book (BBK002) (4 x 6, 100 pages) $7.00 - Our most popular size.  Please specify lined or unlined when ordering
   
Large Blank Book (BBK003) - (8 x 5, 100 pages) $10.00 - These make excellent company books or household blank books for phone numbers or recipes. 
   

Blank Paper

We sell the same fine quality paper that we print our documents on. We offer three types - Laid paper (Appropriate for both 18th and 19th century settings), 19th century style smooth paper, and Vellum-like text weight and cover stock.

Pencils
   
  Our pencils are good copies of originals in our collection. Not perfect, but they are round, unpainted cedar pencils, as the originals were. (PEN001) 50 cents each
   
 Or. order a bundle of 12 (PEN002)  made up exactly like our original bundle for $6.00. The bundles require wrapping with reproductions of the original label and being tied with waxed red thread. That's our reproduction on the left, and our original bundle of pencils on the right.

Pens
   
19th century wood barrel pens with steel nibs (SSP001) - $7.00 - These pens are very similar to ones used during the Civil War.  We are happy to report we found a maker who reproduces a 19th century ferrule, the part that attaches the nib to the pen. These are excellent Civil War era pens. You can pay more, but you can't get a better pen. That's our reproduction pen on the left, and our original pen on the right.
   

Powdered Ink

Not only is our ink made in the same manner as antique black ink, but it comes in a reproduction packet and label. Do not be fooled by imitation packaging or recipes. We make this ourselves. One packet of ink will make about 1 fluid ounce of black ink. Authentic packaging, authentic recipe.
